It’s been a very busy couple of weeks here at QuiBids. We’ve been working around the clock to ensure great fun and deals for our customers. With that said, we also try to make time to have a little fun of our own.
The Week Before Thanksgiving – we had our very own first annual Thanksgiving pot luck! Well, we didn’t know if it was going to be an annual thing until we tried the food… Every department came together to prepare for this soon-to-be feast. And feast is exactly what we did! Everyone brought his or her own dish for others to enjoy. The foods of choice included: turkey & hams (courtesy of QuiBids), sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, various breads (more store bought than actually homemade, but who’s judging), pumpkin and pecan pies, in addition to a few other ‘special,’ yet delectable side dishes… What’s Thanksgiving without a cheese fondue, BBQ chicken wings, marshmallow pilgrim hats and lil’ smokies!? We did mention it was a pot luck, right? The pilgrim hats tasted just as great as they looked, which was adorable! For the recipe used, please see it here.
The Week of Thanksgiving – Lots to do and not much time to do it in! We had to ramp up the number of auctions on our site due to mad sales and shopping that will be going on from now until Christmas. So including last week, that meant more fulfilling of items. Due to an increase of items to ship, we had to pull some extra holiday hours to get it all in. We had staff who volunteered to help with their time during holiday hours (holiday pay of course). Hats off to those individuals!
After Thanksgiving – There’s definitely a lot of catching up to do and multiple things to get ready for. In the next week, a couple of us will be meeting with our $10,000 “Be the Millionth Auction Winner.” We want to know what he plans on doing with his winnings this holiday season as well as what charity he wants to receive the additional $1,000!
Throughout November – Internally, we’re currently collecting non-perishable items, new toys and coats to donate to the Christmas Connection. This is a wonderful organization that is able to fundraise and give back to the less fortunate in our surrounding Oklahoma City area. On top of the tangible donation, we are giving a monetary donation to be able to provide for others over what we could provide by the items we bring in. We’ll have a wrap-up story on that in the next couple of weeks!
Be sure to check back in to get the inside scoop of what’s going on at QuiBids! And to close this post, we wanted to give a list of the things we’re thankful for: OUR CUSTOMERS, our vendors, friends and family, our troops/veterans, QuiBids’ staff, non-profit organizations, good health, good food, shelter, PTO, pets, desserts, funny videos, the gift of laughter and SO much more! If we kept listing things, this post would go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on… You get it. Thank You!!
