If you turned on the news for even a few minutes in the last two days then you’re probably aware that central Oklahoma’s recently had a rough go of it. Tornados touched down in the area Sunday and Monday, destroying homes and claiming lives in Carney, Moore, and Shawnee.
While QuiBids is headquartered in Oklahoma City, several of our employees live in Moore (the suburb is immediately south of OKC, about a 15-minute drive down I-35 from our offices), and we’ve built personal and communal relationships with a lot of people affected by the tornados. The entire community of Oklahoma’s been devastated, but we’re already in recovery and rebuilding mode, led by the Red Cross and many other non-profits, local churches, and relief organizations.
Yesterday we asked you guys to consider donating to this worthy cause and said that we’d be hosting charity auctions (which we’ve done in the past) to raise money for the Red Cross this week. These are now live on the site and available for you to add to your Watchlists. There’ll be one auction today, another Thursday, and two on Friday. They’re listed below:
Today’s tornado relief auction: Apple iPad 4th Generation 16GB WiFi
Wednesday’s tornado relief auction: LG 42LN5300 42” LED 1080P HDTV
Friday’s tornado relief auction: Garmin Nuvi Portable GPS
Friday’s other tornado relief auction: $600 Gift Card Bundle
Happy bidding on QuiBids’ charity auctions!
