Last week, we sponsored the 3rd Annual IgniteOKC. IgniteOKC is an event that allows people from a wide variety of professions and backgrounds to come together and network while enjoying entertaining, forward-thinking speakers, munching on tasty food, and hoping for some fun giveaways. This event stemmed from the International Ignite. All of the proceeds of IgniteOKC benefited OKC Metro Literacy Coalition and OKC Beautiful.
Last weekend, a couple of our fearless leaders (CEO, Matt Beckham and CTO, Shaun Tilford) attended OU’s StartUp Weekend. StartUp Weekend is a very fast-paced weekend event that brings individuals and teams together to develop new business ideas. It’s a true entrepreneurial experience for those involved, students, developers and business professionals alike. This year’s OU StartUp Weekend brought in over 50 participants, bringing around 30 new business plans and ideas. That number was then narrowed down to the top 6.
“How do we love thee… Let us count the ways… “ Yah yah, we know. We can be pretty cheesy at times. But that’s ok, because we have fun doing it! How boring would we be if didn’t do the things we did, have the contests we do, the daily Facebook free bid giveaways we have and issue out promo codes from time to time?
As you all know, we have a daily question or ask for your comments on certain things every day on our Facebook. If we choose your answer, you get 50 FREE bids. Well, we recently had one of our daily free bid questions/statements: Tell us your favorite joke. It sparked a lot of cute, funny and down right hysterical jokes. We thought it’d be fun to showcase some of them here. So go ahead and laugh a little! It’s good for the soul!
Ok, so we didn’t really drive, but we did attend this magnificent event! Each year in Las Vegas, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) draws about 140,000 people to a conference of geekdom unparalleled anywhere in the world. Bloggers, industry analysts, retail buyers, and journalists converge at the local convention center and numerous hotels. This year, we sent four of our QuiBids representatives to the conference to find the hottest products and to see what’s trending in 2011.
No more Holiday tree, lights, decorations or candy canes… We’re sad to see 2010 go, BUT we’re pumped for 2011! We’ve got quite a lot in store this year, one filled with new features and changes at QuiBids. Don’t get discouraged about the word ‘change.’ We know some people don’t like change, but we really think you all will enjoy what we have in store.
If you recall from our ‘A Thanksgiving Wrap-Up’ post, during the month of November we mentioned we were holding a drive benefiting the mission of The Christmas Connection. We had a successful drive and were able to provide multiple games, toys and non-perishables to families in need around the Oklahoma City area.
Josh Neifert was the winner of our “Be the Millionth Auction Winner” promotion. What a very merry Holiday this will be for the Neiferts! I only wish I won a contest like this. I’m one of those people who never win anything. Needless to say… I’m jealous! I know I speak for QuiBids when I say we’re thrilled for Josh!
It’s been a very busy couple of weeks here at QuiBids. We’ve been working around the clock to ensure great fun and deals for our customers. With that said, we also try to make time to have a little fun of our own.
