We’re happy to report that you guys’ bidding on our recent round of charity auctions raised more than $3,500 to be donated to the Central and Western Oklahoma Region chapter of the American Red Cross! The money will contribute to the ongoing efforts of relief workers who are currently cleaning up and assisting victims with the widespread damage in central Oklahoma, specifically in Moore, Carney, and Shawnee.

Seven QuiBids employees live in Moore, the suburb immediately south of Oklahoma City, and one lost his home to the Monday, May 20 tornado, so it’s been an emotionally tumultuous few weeks around here. At its core, a company’s made up of people and ours have mourned with neighbors and friends who’ve experienced deep, profound losses, many of which can’t be recovered. But there’s hope for the future, and the 226 QuiBidders who bid on these auctions joined us in giving their time and money to a worthy cause in putting our central Oklahoma community back together.

The exact total on the check we’re sending to Red Cross is $3,543.22, all of which was generated by your bidding on these four auctions. Couple that with internal giving and a pledge from the employees at iContact —our email service provider— to match QuiBids’ giving up to $2,500, and the outpouring of financial support has been remarkable. We’re glad and honored to have customers and business partners who, when presented with an opportunity to join us in giving, do so generously.

We encourage you to stay tuned to developments in Moore and the surrounding areas, as we experienced another round of fatal weather late last week and the efforts to rebuild homes in the city will take months. Donations to the Red Cross are encouraged, as their presence will need to be sustained here in Central Oklahoma for a while.
