Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is known internationally around the world and is marked during the month of October. One of the more widely known organizations supporting the fight against this horrible disease is Susan G. Komen. We wanted to join the fight against breast cancer, so we volunteered at the Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure through our local Oklahoma City chapter.
Held on Saturday, October 15th, the day’s events included a competitive 5K race, a 1mile fun run/walk, a Kids’ Dash and a survivor ceremony following the races. In addition to a monetary donation of $1,000 to the organization, a nice crew from QuiBids rolled out early that morning (literally around 6a.m.!) to help prepare the water stops for the race, as other fellow QuiBidders got ready to run in the race.
Thank you to our volunteers who helped the morning of the race! If you’re interested in volunteering for this organization, you can always visit the main Susan G. Komen website.
