This Bacon Log recipe was submitted into the Cooking with QuiBids contest by QuiBidder Ryan G.
- 1 Pound of Bacon (Thick cut / maple are best)
- 5 Eggs (Large farm fresh are best!)
- 2 Cups of Shredded Cheese (cheddar is best)
- 1 Package of Simply Potatoes (hash-browns work as well)
- 4 links of Breakfast Sausage
Step 1: Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees.
Step 2: Weave the bacon. This is an awkward process and a bit messy but its crucial! Study the photo and see that the bacon needs to be setup in a checkerboard style. Do this on a cookie sheet. Place in the oven. Bake the bacon for 20 minutes. (dont let the bacon get crispy- floppy bacon is needed)
Step 3: On your stove-top, prepare your sausage, potatoes & eggs to a style of your choosing.
Step 4: Pull the bacon out of the oven and soak up grease with paper towel. Use a spatula to separate bacon from cookie-sheet.
Step 5: Sprinkle shredded cheese on bacon, then add your cooked eggs & potatoes. Cut sausage links into thirds and align down the middle of your breakfast creation.
Step 6: Roll the Bacon Log. This step is crucial. Grab the bacon by one of the long sides. Roll up all of your other breakfast items. Having a partner to spot you might be smart. Be brave. Work fast.
Step 7: Tuck any loose breakfast items back into the Bacon Log. Fix any broken weaves. Your bacon is still soft- maybe even under cooked. Place your Log back in the oven. Cook until you see fit. This time lets the bacon finish cooking and lets the eggs and cheese all melt together.
Step 8: Time to eat the Bacon Log! Cut slices from the log and serve. Each bacon log should serve 4 adults.
