The second half of 2012 saw more improvements to QuiBids than were made in the first two and a half years of our deal-spinning existence. It was also much busier than the first half of the year, as we ramped up our charitable efforts, added new functions to the site, and hosted more contests!
Let’s take a look back on what made the summer, fall, and this half of the winter so great in 2012 at QuiBids!
Word Scramble made its debut on the site, the Interactive Media Awards gave us a Best in Class distinction for e-commerce sites, and we counted down 75 amazing QuiBids products won for just one bid, some of them worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars!
We got to hang out with some brave children receiving treatment at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital and donated some new toys for their playroom, The Zone.
Meanwhile, we hosted the A Day in My QuiBids Life video contest, and while we had plenty of great entries, there could be only one winner. Watch QuiBidder kccrtrppua’s contest-winning video below!
Also, we wound up on the news:
September marked the one-year anniversary of QuiBids Australia, we won a bronze American Business Award, and we got to help the Oklahoma City City Rescue Mission celebrate the opening of their new food pantry.
You all cleaned up pretty nice for our Dress Like QuiBids contest:
Meanwhile our new, multiple-product auction format kicked into full-swing, you all hunted for Halloween prizes, we completed our second Grant Thornton audit, and celebrated our third birthday with three days of totally-free shipping! Oh, and we had an in-office Halloween costume contest.
You guys started taking home extra prizes with our monthly Top QuiBidder contest, and we sponsored two really awesome events. First up was the Oklahoma chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Walk for Wishes:
The second was the Better Business Bureau Serving Central Oklahoma’s annual Torch Awards. QuiBids was honored to work with our local BBB, and we got to hear a great address on business ethics from former Oklahoma attorney general Drew Edmondson.
While we were at it this holiday season, we brought back free shipping for a whole month, opened up the QuiBids Store and QuiBids Reviews, celebrated Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a commemorative badge, and even resolved our one millionth customer support ticket!
And we finished the year right by raising nearly 4,000 pounds of food to donate to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma!
Thanks for sticking with QuiBids in 2012! We’re looking forward to a bigger, better 2013!
