This Sunday April 28 QuiBids employees supplied nearly 3,000 tired runners with water, Powerade, and pretzels by hosting a water stop at the thirteenth annual Oklahoma City National Memorial Marathon. We co-sponsored the stop with Walgreens and it was located around mile 20 of the 26.2 mile course that wound across northwest Oklahoma City. The weather was ideal which made it all the more fun to root on the runners.
Needless to say, all the runners coming through at mile 20 were tired by that point and in need of a pick-me-up! We cheered them along their way and also played background music provided by Jimmy, a co-worker who also proved his skills as a deejay. Runners heard the Olympics theme song, “Eye of the Tiger” and many other inspiring tunes to keep the energy going! We gave out pretzels to replenish runners’ sodium six miles and handed out cups of water and Powerade. See below for some action shots!
The winner of the thirteenth annual OKC Memorial Marathon was Jake Buhler (his 2nd consecutive win) with a time of 2:26:13. Congrats to Jake and to all the runners in the marathon – 5K, half, relay and the full!
